Petros Ghazaryan has resigned as the director of the press service of the Public Television. Vardan Hakobyan, the creative producer of the TV company, has also resigned. This information was included in a statement from the Public Television and Radio Company.

Yesterday, Margarita Grigoryan, the executive director of Public Television, gave her resignation.

“The Council expressed its appreciation to Margarita Grigoryan for her effective, professional and dedicated work as the Executive Director of Public Television,” the statement of the Public Television and Radio Company’s Board reads.

The personnel changes in Public TV started after the outtakes of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s video message were broadcasted on April 17 on Public TV (it is not known by whom, as the open channel signal was available to eight different TV channels), and based on these outtakes a video mocking the Prime Minister was created and spread on social networks.

It was demanded across social networks to severely punish the perpetrators of the incident, and the of the executive director Margarita Grigoryan and the director of the news service Petros Ghazaryan were circulated.

Armen Sargsyan, Deputy Director for the Creative Affairs of Public Television, has been appointed Acting Executive Director of the TV Company. Deputy Director Ruben Shahinyan has been appointed acting director of the news service.

“In the near future, the Council will set up a tender commission and announce a tender for the position of Executive Director of Public Television,” the statement said.
