The Armenian government today decided to create a Spritiual-Cultural Public Televsion CJSC, the shares of which will be managed by the Public Television Council.
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said this issue was raised on numerous occasions by cultural workers and intellectuals. Currently, it’s possible for the channel to implement a separate programming policy, to independently decide the thematic direction of broadcasts, satisfying the spiritual and cultural needs of all the layers of society.
The Spiritual-Cultural Public Television’s 2011 budget will be ensured by the funds for the 2011 Television Services program, until 73,245,400 drams (about $200,672 US).
