Physicist by education, journalist by occupation

It is common to accept the Protection of Children’s Rights Day as a holiday, when different happy, colorful and educational programs are organized for the heroes of the day.

We will try to do the opposite, observe the rights but not the holiday, on a different everyday plane.

Our guest today is not an adult, but a curious and proud Armenian citizen, high school student, Mariam Papoyan.

She is sure that you only need a smartphone to get credible information, and of course, help the older generation, grandmothers and grandfathers, to recognize misinformation, which is often faster for younger people to catch.

“In order to walk around the world and not get lost in it, you have to get reliable information,” says Mariam. Especially since, thanks to her generation, live broadcasts played a revolutionary role.

Children learned to protect their right to receive information.

In the Kingdom of Informia, news was accurate and valid, here ruled Princess Veritas.  One day, the ruler of a neighboring country, Manipulus kidnapped Veritas and spread false rumors that they were getting married. Veritas’ beloved, Literatus, didn’t believe the fake news, and decided to check the information.

This is the beginning of the computer game, Literatus’ Adventures, created by Media Initiatives Center. It helps schoolchildren and students to check information through a game.

We leave Literatus’ Adventures in our drawer.
