Find The Journalist In Party Lists

There are many well-known and lesser known journalists included in the lists of parties and blocs nominated for the December 9 NA extraordinary elections.

My Step Alliance

The list filled with the “most journalists,’ led by journalist Nikol Pashinyan is the My Step alliance. Some of them are already former journalists or editors, and currently hold various government posts.

Vahagn Hovakimyan and Hayk Gevorgyan, former and current journalists of Haykakan Zhamanak Daily, which is owned by Pashinyan, are in the 33rd and 45th places on the 183-member list.

The third number in the alliance is MP Lena Nazaryan, who years ago was Hetq’s environmental affairs correspondent. The 6th on the list is Alen Simonyan, who is the editor of AraratNews.

Also included in the pre-election list of the My Step bloc is former editor of Sunflower youth magazine Zaruhi Patonyan, former editor of the website Lurer.com, Davit Sanasaryan, and journalist and former scriptwriter for the SOS project, Aren Mkrtchyan.

Gayane Abrahamyan, a journalist from a number of local and international news outlets (Aravot, The Guardian, Euraset.org and Yerkir Media) is also on the My Step bloc’s pre election list.

Number 28 on the list is Lusine Badalyan, who has been a host on broadcast television and radio and who currently works at the website 1in.am.

Hayk Konjoryan is widely known for his projects in Lragir.am and Para TV. Former producer of Para TV, Arthur Hovhannisyan, is also a MP candidate.

Taguhi Tovmasyan, Editor-In-Chief of Zhoghovurd Daily is also on the My Step bloc’s pre-election list.

Arman Yeghoyan, Spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office is also on the list. In 2016, he has worked in the Armenian-Georgian news outlet, Alik Media, which was founded in Tbilisi.

The application of Sisak Gabrielyan, employee of RFE/RL’s Yerevan office, to participate in politics was a surprise. He is also on the 67th place in the My Step alliance’s party list.

Number 71 is economist, economic journalist Babken Tunyan.

Number 75, Public TV’s news and analytical program director, Vahagn Tevosyan.

Public relations specialist and journalist Anush Beghloyan is in the top 30th place in the list. Nazeli Baghdasaryan, an employee of Tsayg TV is also included in the list of pro-government alliances.

Former Civilnet journalist Sargis Khandanyan is in the 81st place, and in the 119th place is prose writer Hambardzum Hambardzumyan who has featured his short stories and articles in a series for Hraparak daily.

Acting MP, actor by profession, and former operator at armtimes.com Hrachya Hakobyan is in the 182nd place.

We Bloc

Five journalists are included in the Free Democrats party, Republican and We bloc. They are armenianow.com website editor, lecturer of YSU’s journalism faculty, Sputnik Armenia’s Editor-In-Chief Alina Ordyan, PR specialist Astghik Avetisyan, Editor of Irates, Anahit Adamyan, journalist Sona Simonyan. Number three on the bloc’s list is former journalist of Hayk and Zhamanak newspapers, 1in.am Angela Khachatryan.

Citizen’s Decision Party

There are two journalists on the list of the newly established political party: Tehmine Yenokyan, who is currently working at that State Control Service and Mariam Chakhoyan, one of Hetq’s former correspondents.

Prosperous Armenia

Naira Zohrabyan, former political commentator of Haykakan Zhamanak daily is number 4 on the list of Prosperous Armenia’s 175-person long list. Journalist, Iveta Tonoyan, director of Kentron TV is also on the party list.

Varuzhan Babajanyan has been nominated by the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), who is the owner of several websites and he newspaper Fact, as well as Hripsime Arakelyan, Public Radio’s Press Service Director.

Bright Armenia Party

Arman Babajanyan, founder and editor of Zhamanak daily and the website 1in.am holds the 3rd place in Bright Armenia Party’s list.

Included in the party’s list is also radio journalist, former journalist at Sisyan’s Voice newspaper turned editor, Yerkir Media and Shant television company news program correspondent, Srbuhi Gevorgyan.

ARF

Included in the list of 152 names of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun are the names of three acting journalists. Gegham Manukyan, director of the news and political programs of Yerkir Media TV is number 30. The 32nd place is occupied by Editor-In-Chief of the website Yerkir, Gayane Manukyan. She is followed by the editor of Droshak official newspaper, Artyush Shahbazyan.

RPA

If we consider that Armen Ashotyan is also a member of the journalistic family, since he had experience hosting a political program on the First Channel, then there are five journalists in the RPA list. They are Editor-In-Chief of Slaq.am, Menua Harutyunyan, the former journalist of Aravot daily, Margarit Yesayan, 4news website’s director, Lilit Hovakimyan and Hayk Babukhanyan, chairman of the editorial board of Iravunk Media Holding.

Sasna Tsrer

Number four on the Sasna Tsrer Party list is Gala TV journalist, Hermine Mkrtchyan. Gohar Arshakyan, a former journalist at Iravunk, Hraparak and Aravot is also on the party list.

Christian-People’s Revival Party

The party list of the CPR party is headed by Levon Shirinyan, a journalist who has his own program on Media Radio.
