In autumn, social networks in Armenia can be observed again to determine how the audience has changed on various platforms, as well as which platforms are currently receiving the most attention.
It’s important to note that most platforms do not provide clear geographic statistics, particularly for smaller countries like Armenia. Generally, data can be accessed through ad placement panels, which display the currently active audience.
YouTube maintains a stable leading position in terms of visits. However, many visitors from Armenia are not registered users, nor are they content creators or commenters.
Meta maintains a leading position in terms of user numbers. Interestingly, Facebook and Instagram now have equal audiences aged 18 and over, each with approximately 1.3 million active users. This trend is expected to continue, with Instagram likely to grow further, while Facebook may either lose users or maintain its current audience.
The LinkedIn professional platform continues to expand, with the number of users from Armenia rising from 370 thousand to 460 thousand.
X (formerly Twitter) currently has around 150,000 active users in Armenia, compared to 300,000 users during September-October last year. This sharp increase was linked to Azerbaijan’s attack on Artsakh, as many used the platform to raise awareness of the ethnic cleansing carried out by Azerbaijan. After these events, many users who had joined X temporarily left the platform again.
Telegram and TikTok do not yet provide specific statistics for Armenia, but it is evident that they are among the most active platforms in the country.
Additionally, Snapchat’s popularity continues to rise, particularly among schoolchildren and the youth.
Overall, the trends indicate that social media usage in Armenia is becoming more diverse, influenced by factors such as age, gender, interests, and social status.
