Doctor and TV presenter Vahe Ter-Minasyan says that anxiety and concerns about coronavirus are quite normal – the most important thing is not to spread panic.
“You cannot write that coronavirus cases have been found in Armenia, or that people have been infected. You should write that people are being tested. The worst thing is hiding the facts. There are no medical myths; this is a new thing, and people have not managed to disseminate myths yet,” he says.
Ter-Minasyan thinks that an editorial staff should be vigilant while dealing with such sensitive topics and always be ready to ask questions, contact the ministry and find experts.
“Some online media that conduct interviews with certain people “in trend” are simply politically motivated. You should be careful – a story that got the most views might cost somebody’s life.”
