With martial law restrictions, the media can now publish only official information. This was reported by the Armenian Joint Information Center.
“Publications, dissemination, transfer of information related to hostilities, their directions, movement of military equipment, losses as a result of hostilities, informational materials, interviews, reports, and other pieces of information directly related to them, including on websites and social networks, are carried out. exclusively with reference to official information provided by state bodies, fully reflecting the official information (without editing).
Now, this is the main restriction on the work of the media in Armenia.
The RA Law on martial law envisages the restriction of freedom of speech, as well as temporary confiscation or detention of printing equipment, radio broadcasters, amplifiers, reproduction equipment, special rules for accreditation of journalists, special rules for the use of means of communication.
The law of the same name of the Artsakh Republic envisages a similar restriction.
The decree on declaring martial law in both Armenia and Artsakh is subject to immediate publication on television, radio, and in the press.
From now on, the Television and Radio Commission will send circulars to the e-mail addresses of the media, which will be useful for organizing the work in the conditions of martial law.
