The Largest Fluctuation In The Price Of Political Advertising As Compared To 2017 In The Public

The Central Electoral Commission has published the paid airtime fees during the pre-election campaign period of the extraordinary parliamentary elections in Armenia.  

The highest price is offered by Armenia and Shant TV for 100,000 AMD per minute.

A year ago, during the 2017 parliamentary elections, the prices for paid advertising on these two TV stations were the same. Moreover, there were no limitations on the amount of paid airtime at Armenia and Shant.  

Comparatively, the rates for First Channel and H2 are low, at 48,000 and 60,000 AMD respectively.

Public Television has begun to reconsider its rates, reducing from 80,000 to 48,000 AMD. In 2017, the price of political advertising per minute was 60,000 AMD in the public domain.

Advertising rates at PanArmenian Media Group’s A-TV costs 40,000 AMD per minute.  

Yerkir Media, Kentron, ArmNews, Ar and H3 offer rates of about 20,000 AMD.

Compared to 2017, the rates have been revised by H3, changing it from 50,000 to 18,000 AMD per minute, and Kentron from 24,000 to 18,000 AMD per minute.

The lowest price is at 21TV, at a rate of 8,000 AMD per minute.

Generally, paid airtime of TV companies last 10-30 minutes, in some cases there are no limitations.

The highest price of regional TV stations is Shant Gyumri, during the time frame of 18:00-22:00 at a price of 18,000 AMD per minute. With a price difference of only 500 AMD, Fortuna’s rates are 17,500 AMD per minute. The cost of airtime on Gala is 15,000 AMD per minute.

There are no major price changes on the regional channels, the price fluctuation for one minute was around one or several thousand AMD.

As in the previous year, this year the lowest price is offered by Alaverdi’s Ankyun Plus 3, at a rate of 1,000-1,400 AMD per minute, and 1,900 AMD during the evening hours.

The political advertisement on the radio is almost the same as in 2017, in the range of 600-2,500 AMD per minute.

The official start of the parliamentary election campaign is November 26. December 8 is a day of silence. The campaign will last 12 days.
