A paper for everyone and about everything”: this is how a new local daily called Joghovurd (“People”), whose first issue came out today, describes itself.
“Without pompous words and airs and graces, we can assure you at once that there is no political party backing us; even if you look through the sharpest eyes and tools, no ears, arms, legs or other body parts of stiff-hair youth or oligarchs would appear on our back. We don’t have ‘daddies,’ we don’t have dictators or those who make demands. And the name we chose is no coincidence: People. It really will be the paper for everyone,” reads the description on the paper’s sleeve.
The paper has a print run of 3,000 copies.
