Hetq journalist Ani Hovhannisyan, who works with data and facts checking, has highlighted several points from pre-election promises which ought to be checked.
“It’s easy to manipulate people, and the manipulation of numbers are becoming more clever. It’s easy for journalists to check numbers,” said Ani.
She believes that quoted statistics are nothing more than impressive. For example, the same numbers can be represented by one side as economic growth, and on the other side as decrease.
“The situation has changed in Armenia. But the only place where nothing has changed is Hetq. Politicians come and go, revolutions happen and pass, and journalism is always with the public,” said Ani Hovhannisyan.
