{"id":9143,"date":"2018-01-14T21:22:39","date_gmt":"2018-01-14T21:22:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/media.am\/media-am-is-seeking-an-armenian-to-english-translator\/"},"modified":"2018-01-14T21:22:39","modified_gmt":"2018-01-14T21:22:39","slug":"media-am-is-seeking-an-armenian-to-english-translator","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/media.am\/en\/announcements\/2018\/01\/14\/9143\/","title":{"rendered":"Media.am Is Seeking an Armenian-to-English Translator"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Media Initiatives Center is looking for a translator to translate and edit the English version of Media.am.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>Translate articles on Media.am to English<\/li>\n<li>Publish the translated articles on the English version of Media.am<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with the Media Initiatives Center staff and assist in fulfilling additional duties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Professional and job qualifications:<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>A post-secondary degree and at least five years of experience in translation; work experience in journalism, media, or other related fields is preferred<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in English as a native language is preferred<\/li>\n<li>Excellent skills in translation and editing<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills; excellent knowledge of spoken and written Armenian<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work as part of a team, to work independently and effectively, and to meet deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Qualified candidates are invited to submit (in Armenian or English) a curriculum vitae, a cover letter, and the contact information of three employers who can act as references by <strong>January 22, 2018<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Applications should be sent to msargsyan@mediainitiatives.am with \u201cMedia.am Editor-Translator\u201d in the subject line.<\/p>\n<p>We thank all applicants for their interest.
