The hiring committee was led by head of the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the Office of the President Meri Harutyunyan. Apart from Amiryan, six other candidates applied for the position.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:cambria,serif\">Since 1997 and up until recently, Amiryan was the Executive Director of the Public Radio Company. He <a href=\"\/en\/armen-amiryan-resigned\">submitted his resignation<\/a> on December 8, 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:cambria,serif\">The Council of Public Television and Radio Company will announce a competition for appointment of the post after the New Year\u2019s holidays; most likely around mid-January.
