According to the 2026 public opinion poll<\/a> conducted in Armenia by the International Republican Institute (IRI), the First Public Channel was identified as the most trusted media outlet for political information.<\/span><\/p>\n

 Armenia TV, Shant TV, Radio Liberty TV, and Channel 5 also made it into the top five.<\/p>\n

29% of respondents said they considered none of the channels trustworthy sources for political information.<\/p>\n

The survey results are also available categorized by age group. Among respondents aged 56 and older, 40% consider Public TV the most reliable source of political information. In this age group, 20% consider the political coverage of Armenia TV and Shant TV as reliable.<\/p>\n

Among respondents aged 18 to 35, 25% consider the First Public Channel to be the most reliable source of political information. In comparison, Armenia TV and Shant are seen as reliable by 16% and 10% of respondents in this age group, respectively.<\/p>\n

From this perspective, the situation remains the same as in the IRI survey conducted last year. In 2025, the most reliable sources of political information were identified as First Public Channel, Armenia TV, Shant TV, Radio Liberty TV, and Channel 5.<\/p>\n

The survey results reveal that 45% of viewers of the First Public Channel believe Armenia is moving in the right direction, while only 15% think otherwise. Among Armenia TV viewers, 21% consider the country’s direction incorrect, and 11% of Shant TV viewers share this sentiment; as for Channel 5 viewers, only 2% of respondents feel that Armenia is progressing positively, while 12% believe it is not.<\/p>\n

This year, the “Media and Information Sources” section of the survey includes a new question that was not present in previous years. The question inquires about the social media apps most commonly used to obtain political information.<\/p>\n

 Facebook tops the list as the most popular platform, with 55% of respondents using it. Following Facebook, YouTube is used by 21%, Instagram by 16%, Telegram by 14%, and TikTok by 7%.<\/p>\n
