Two television companies, &#8220;Husaber&#8221; CJSC (Yerkir Media TV Company) and &#8220;Vivaro Media&#8221; LLC, have submitted applications.<\/p>\n<p>As per the commission&#8217;s decision, both television companies are required to publish their applications and supporting documents on August 2, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, a competition was held by the TRC to license the use of slots in the public multiplex. The number of available slots was <a href=\"http:\/\/tvradio.am\/2022\/09\/05\/%d5%af%d5%a1%d5%bf%d5%a1%d6%80%d5%be%d5%a5%d5%ac-%d5%a7-%d6%83%d5%b8%d6%83%d5%b8%d5%ad%d5%b8%d6%82%d5%a9%d5%b5%d5%b8%d6%82%d5%b6-%d5%b0%d5%a1%d5%b6%d6%80%d5%a1%d5%ba%d5%a5%d5%bf%d5%a1%d5%af%d5%a1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reduced from 5 to 4<\/a> due to a court ruling that froze the competition for one of the slots.<\/p>\n<p>Consequently, starting from January 21, 2023, Yerkir Media&#8217;s broadcasting was suspended due to a legal dispute over the fifth slot that they could have occupied.<\/p>\n<p>However, in March 2023, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arlis.am\/documentview.aspx?docid=169093&amp;fbclid=IwAR0-12Iu4M6OdqMrWGRCEqpw5jMxUSWzmILcKaDICITzpnPr6GAuLR7pWAg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amendment<\/a> to the law on &#8220;Audiovisual Media&#8221; allowed Yerkir Media to <a href=\"https:\/\/media.am\/en\/newsroom\/2023\/07\/01\/35571\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">return<\/a> back on the air after a five-month suspension.
