It&#8217;s unclear how many people in Armenia access the internet with a tablet, a smartphone, or a basic phone that is able to connect to the internet.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There are no accurate, publicly accessible data, though an approximate picture of the mobile market in Armenia can be obtained from other sources.<\/p>\n<p>In July 2012, a representative of Mail.Ru Group <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mediamax.am\/en\/news\/society\/5281\/\">announced<\/a> that more than 787,000 users in Armenia visit the Russian social networking site Odnoklassniki, 272,000 of these accessing the site from a mobile phone; that is, about one-third of visitors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Facebook provides more detailed data. According to data accessed in mid-May of this year, 470,000 users from Armenia access Facebook per month. Of these, 193,040 \u2014 about 41% \u2014 use mobile devices to do so.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>131,120 &nbsp;access the site through so-called &#8220;feature&#8221; phones, which are not themselves smartphones but are able to connect to the Internet<\/li>\n<li>67,680 access the site via smartphones and tablets<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/easel.ly\/all_easels\/127903\/USAGEOFMOBILEDEVICES\/image.jpg\" alt=\"USAGEOFMOBILEDEVICES title=\" width=\"610\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\"><\/p>\n<p>The following is a breakdown of smartphone and tablet use according to operating system:<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">iOS<\/span><\/strong>: 58,320 smartphones and tablet users use this operating system. Of these, 17,440 are iPads (of which iPad is used by 960; iPad 2 \u2013 9,180; iPad 3 \u2013 8,080). &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">iPhone<\/span><\/strong>: 29,100 users ( iPhone 4 \u2013 9,980 users; iPhone 4S \u2013 11,820; iPhone 5 \u2013 9,600). In Armenia, users also access Facebook through the iPod (840 users).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Android<\/strong><\/span>: 50,340 users. According to the make: Samsung \u2013 29,620; HTC \u2013 6,720; Sony \u2013 3,900; &nbsp;LG \u2013 660; Motorola \u2013 240.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Windows<\/strong><\/span>: 3,060 users<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>RIM\/Blackberry<\/strong><\/span>: 1,240 users<\/p>\n<p>Take into consideration that the same user might access the Internet using more than one device, and so the overall number of users might be different than expected.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gs.statcounter.com\/\">Statcounter<\/a> collects aggregate data from across its network of sites. The statistics aren&#8217;t that accurate as visits to social networking sites are omitted.
