Their authors were politicians conducting an anti-vaccination information campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Who reported the crime?<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The authors of the report on the crime were Marina Khachatryan and Arthur Grigoryan. Both introduced themselves as leaders of non-governmental organizations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both figures participated in the 2021 snap parliamentary elections with the pre-election list of the &#8220;Armenian Homeland&#8221; party.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This party was founded in August 2018. It is headed by Artak Galstyan. The party is also <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mamul24.am\/2021\/04\/02\/hayoc-hayreniq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">connected with<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Vardan Ghukasyan, a former police officer whose vlog is popular on the Internet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The party <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/res.elections.am\/images\/doc\/HayHK_20_06_21.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">did not declare<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> any financial resources or property during the elections. Marina Khachatryan declared only one income &#8211; the salary received from the Mikaelyan Institute of Surgery (816,000 AMD, i.e. a minimum monthly salary of 68,000 AMD). Arthur Grigoryan did not declare any income.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Marina Khachatryan is a former member of the Yerevan Council of Elders. She is actively involved in politics and often <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/media.am\/en\/verified\/2020\/06\/11\/22037\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">spreads<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> false or manipulative information about the healthcare sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arthur Grigoryan is also an activist. In 2019, he <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=2481313148615443&amp;set=pb.100002103455411.-2207520000..&amp;type=3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">fought<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> against the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (Istanbul Convention). Now he spreads unverified information about vaccines on his Facebook page, most often from the website Pastark.am.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">COVID-19 vaccines have already undergone clinical trials<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report filed by Khachatryan and Grigoryan <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pastark.am\/patvastumneri-partadranqi-arnchuthyamb-nerkayacvel-e-hancagortzuthyan-masin-haghordum\/?fbclid=IwAR0vbGbZ5NPryGAVn1wzLRE0zg0WURlNKC-csivGAxSX64hwllArNjMX5jA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was published<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on the Pastark.am website. It was also <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hraparak.am\/post\/e9e62aef9a053385ddc9a999a385281a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">published<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by Hraparak.am. With the crime report, they demanded to initiate a criminal case against a number of officials, including the ministers of health and economy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A suit, however, there were manipulative allegations in the report.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u274c &#8220;No vaccine against COVID-19 is included in the &#8216;National Vaccination Calendar&#8217; by the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2714\ufe0f Vaccines against coronavirus are not regular planned vaccines. They have begun to be implemented because there is an emergency situation, a pandemic. That is why they are carried out according to epidemiological instruction and according to the government&#8217;s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arlis.am\/documentView.aspx?docID=148508\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">decision<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> made in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u274c The authors note, &#8220;No vaccine against COVID-19 is registered in Armenia.&#8221; They also hint that the reason is that they have not been sufficiently tested.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2714\ufe0f In response to Media.am&#8217;s inquiry, the Ministry of Health informed that the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arlis.am\/documentview.aspx?docID=106446\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RA Law on Drugs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> also allows the import and application of unregistered vaccines, if there is a relevant decision of the authorized body (Article 21, part 6, item 4). The Ministry also informed that such a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arlis.am\/documentview.aspx?docid=128860\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">decision<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was made by the government in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prior to use in the general population, all vaccines used in Armenia have been tested and approved by international health organizations (see below for more details).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u274c &#8220;Clinical trials with COVID-19 vaccines are being carried out among the citizens of the Republic of Armenia.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2714\ufe0f The filers of the report, Khachatryan and Grigoryan, not only claim that&nbsp; &#8220;clinical trials&#8221; are being conducted in Armenia but also refer to the Nuremberg Code, which regulates the ethical part of trials.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, all vaccines used in Armenia against coronavirus have already passed clinical trials and been approved by international health organizations for use in the general population. Thus, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/news\/item\/07-05-2021-who-lists-additional-covid-19-vaccine-for-emergency-use-and-issues-interim-policy-recommendations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AstraZeneca<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/news\/item\/01-06-2021-who-validates-sinovac-covid-19-vaccine-for-emergency-use-and-issues-interim-policy-recommendations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sinovak<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/extranet.who.int\/pqweb\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/Status_COVID_VAX_19August2021.pdf?fbclid=IwAR3dPU0qXVbVUsZ3Ym8M9J7NVb2K_9exYe4Hztzf3V5tU1c6BwKW_4DUoB4,%20https:\/\/www.ema.europa.eu\/en\/human-regulatory\/overview\/public-health-threats\/coronavirus-disease-covid-19\/treatments-vaccines\/covid-19-vaccines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sinopharm<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are approved by the World Health Organization. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov.ph\/sputnik-v-gam-covid-vac-covid-19-vaccine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sputnik V<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is approved by a number of countries in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2021\/03\/03\/americas\/sputnik-latin-america-spreads-intl-latam\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">South America<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/india\/india-approves-russias-sputnik-v-vaccine-economic-times-2021-04-12\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Asia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.themoscowtimes.com\/2021\/02\/07\/hungary-approves-russias-sputnik-v-vaccine-a72853\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Europe<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is not the first time Marina Khachatryan has tried to link the Nuremberg Code with the coronavirus vaccination process. In July, she even <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/live\/?v=281167667138825&amp;ref=watch_permalink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">threatened<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to &#8220;hold accountable&#8221; the doctors who inject the vaccines with the help of this document.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In an interview with Full Fact, Alexis Paton, lecturer in social epidemiology and the sociology of health at Aston University in the United Kingdom, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fullfact.org\/health\/nuremberg-code-covid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">stressed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that the Nuremberg Code applies only when it comes to testing. That is, the code is applicable to vaccine trials, but is no longer relevant when it comes to vaccines already approved for use in the general population. &#8220;when we talk about Pfizer or AstraZeneca [vaccines], we\u2019re out of the auspices of the Nuremberg Code because this is a product that has been trialed, with appropriate ethics in place, and has been approved and is now in production and being used globally,&#8221; Paton said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thus, two politicians included in the pre-election list of the &#8220;Armenian Homeland&#8221; party filed a crime report against their political opponents, using manipulated data on coronavirus vaccinations.
