Moreover, according to official Baku, against the background of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border clashes since July 12, the threat to strike the Metsamor nuclear power plant was a response to the words of the RA Minister of Defense, who took office about 20 years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A fake photo of the damaged (unmanned aerial vehicle) UAV was published on the Public Radio website<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On July 13, journalist Siranush Ghazanchyan published an article on Armenian Public Radio&#8217;s website about the loss of a possible unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) by Azerbaijan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The article was accompanied by a photo of the damaged UAV, which had nothing to do with Armenia or Azerbaijan. The spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan Vagif Dargyahli <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/regnum.ru\/news\/3012928.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">presented this fact as proof<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> that the Armenian side is lying about compromising 13 Azerbaijani UAVs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Soon Armradio.am <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/en.armradio.am\/2020\/07\/13\/azerbaijan-loses-advanced-drone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">changed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> the photo of the article. There is no mention of the change in the article.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">RA Ministry of Defense spokeswoman Shushan Stepanyan, in her turn, stated that official Yerevan did not publish any photos of the Hermes 900 UAV damage. Only a video was distributed by the Ministry of Defense.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In other words, in the article on the damage of the Azerbaijani Hermes 900 UAV, Public Radio used an old photo taken from the Internet, which has nothing to do with the event. The Azerbaijani side paid attention to this publication, after which Baku accused Armenia of spreading false information about the damaged UAV.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The threat to damage the Metsamor nuclear power plant was a response to a July 2 interview with a former Armenian official<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The article on Public Radio was not the only case when the Azerbaijani side made official statements based on unofficial Armenian sources.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On July 16, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rferl.org\/a\/idle-threat-azerbaijani-hint-at-missile-strike-on-armenian-nuclear-plant-increases-tensions\/30733672.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">announced<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> that their &#8220;advance missile systems are able to precisely hit Metsamor nuclear power plant.&#8221; According to the Azerbaijani side, this threat was a response to the statements made in Armenia about the damage to the Mingechaur hydroelectric power plant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, no official source in Armenia has made such a statement. Instead, Vagharshak Harutyunyan <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/dKAsYBrxU1U?t=760\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">spoke<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> about the damage to the Mingachevir hydroelectric power plant on July 2 (before the start of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border clashes in Tavush). He was the Minister of Defense of Armenia.<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-22983 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/media.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/v-harutyuyan-factor.jpg\" alt=\"\u054e\u0561\u0572\u0561\u0580\u0577\u0561\u056f \u0540\u0561\u0580\u0578\u0582\u0569\u0575\u0578\u0582\u0576\u0575\u0561\u0576\" width=\"800\" height=\"558\" srcset=\"https:\/\/media.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/v-harutyuyan-factor.jpg 800w, https:\/\/media.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/v-harutyuyan-factor-300x209.jpg 300w, https:\/\/media.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/v-harutyuyan-factor-768x536.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In an interview with Factor TV, Harutyunyan quoted Russian General NK Rokhlin as saying that &#8220;if the Armenian side uses the SCUD complex, with the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mingachevir <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">reservoir as a target, 2\/3 of Azerbaijan will be left underwater.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There is information on the Internet that in the 1990s Rokhlin spoke about the armament of Armenia at a closed session of the State Duma.
