A1+ TV filed a lawsuit with the RA Administrative Court demanding the court mandate Armenia\u2019s National Commission on Television and Radio (NCTR) to grant copies of the package submitted by ArmNews CJSC for the broadcast licensing competition, the results of which were announced on Dec. 16, 2010.<\/p>\n
The winner of the competition No. 11 (for TV channels in Yerevan with an international\/ current affairs profile) was ArmNews, receiving 44 points from NCTR, and beating A1+, which was granted a mere 2 points by the Commission, and thus denied a broadcasting license for the thirteenth time.<\/p>\n
According to A1+ attorney Tigran Ter-Yesayan, his clients are going to demand a copy of the application submitted by ArmNews, but NCTR has said that copies can be provided after Jan. 20, 2010, saying they\u2019re still working on the documents.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf there already is a company that has already won, we find it incomprehensible why the Commission is working on the application packages,\u201d said the attorney.<\/p>\n
A1+ Director Mesrop Movsesyan said he will personally file a lawsuit against NCTR President Grigor Amalyan, who insulted him and called him a falsifie \u2014 unfounded and without the court\u2019s ruling.<\/p>\n
Amalyan said he reason for denying the application by A1+ for a broadcast license was that the supporting documents on financial assistance were \u201cforged and unjustified.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cFalsified in particular is the certified document of financial assistance for technical upgrades provided to Meltex LLC by British company Hobbington Management Ltd. and the certified document of financial assistance for technical upgrades provided to Meltex LLC by Belize\u2019s Rogeston Logistics Ltd.
