The voices of new opposition forces are not heard much in the news. According to Suren Sahakyan, Secretary of the Citizen Decision Party’s executive body, there is a stereotype that if you are an oppositionist, then you must curse, label, and oppose everyone. “The media chases clicks, arguments, voiced opinions, etc. and I think the diversity of opinions suffer because of it.”
He noticed that the media is mainly interested in those who have radical opinions, “And an interesting situation is created: they do not cover us because we are not objectively recognized, and if they do not cover us, we will not be able to get recognized.”
Suren Sahakyan will propose to change the law on parties to the National Assembly so that the party-connected media outlets do not violate the balance and stay focused on finances.
