Physicist by education, journalist by occupation

Editor-In-Chief of Factor.am, Arevik Sahakyan, thinks that there wouldn’t have been a revolution in Armenia if it wasn’t for media reports and coverage.

“Of course, we didn’t always turn out to be objective, but we tried our best. At the very least, the presence of journalists was a guarantee that there would be no violence,” she said.

Factor.am, which works with grants, may be considered to be more free than commercial media, but Arevik Sahakyan has a different opinion.

“Commercial media always thinks about what is the most spectacular, and we don’t run after spectacular material, rather follow our own priorities.” And that is natural that we are forgiving towards the new government.

She says that now, the new government’s communication with the media is somewhat elementary, but everything has its price. You can work with a system that resembles a swamp, and you can choose change. The second option is preferable.
