Physicist by education, journalist by occupation. Works for Media Initiatives Center.

The Media Initiatives Center holds a week of media literacy in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science.

Arevik Anapiosyan, acting Deputy Minister of Education and Science, considers media literacy to be a comprehensive concept, which by appearing in schools will help children fact check information provided and differentiate facts from opinions.

“I believe that one of the main goals of education is to formulate critical thinking. And it’s not based on reciting the lesson and answering questions, rather organizing discussions and debates,” said Arevik Anapiosyan.

She compares media literacy with a small window that opens a path for both pupils and teachers to the media.
